Swimming spots at Porkuni Lake

Porkuni Lake is a popular swimming spot, from which you can also find Porkuni Manor and a stone museum.

Porkuni Lake is 41 ha, divided by dams into Suurjärv or Upper Lake, Karujärv or Lower Lake, Aiajärv, and Iiri Lake.

JThe lake is famous for the floating islands on Suurjärv and the fluctuation of water levels. Due to karst fissures, the lake has dried up in some years, exposing the lakebed and the destroyed fish population.

The most well-known springs are Kaie and Külmallikas, which have several folk tales associated with them.

In summer, there are boat and pedal boat rentals and a café

Interesting to know: The Valgejõgi River originates from Porkuni Lake.
