Ah, what to do in Lahemaa during the summer? In Estonia’s oldest and largest national park, the tourism season is in full swing and there are plenty of activities. In addition to popular hiking trails, Lahemaa offers experiences through local tourism providers. We have compiled a medley of activities from members of the tourism association. Enjoy a nice dose of local flavor. Happy exploring!
Lahemaa and Kõrvemaa Hiking Trails
The hiking trails in Lahemaa are enchanting! We made your life easier by putting together a list of diverse routes: https://visitlahemaa.com/info/matkarajad/. Once you’ve explored these, be sure to visit Lahemaa’s neighbor Kõrvemaa. For accommodation, consider the private camping area at Uuejärve Matkapesa.

Leesi Store
The historic store has a century of history behind it, yet the heart of this beautiful seaside village shows no signs of aging. Quite the opposite. At Leesi store, you can stock up on food supplies or enjoy ice cream or soft drinks on the sunlit terrace.
Additionally, the beloved store will once again host summer concerts in its courtyard. Kicking off in June will be Ivo Linna and Supernova on the new guest stage.

Linnutee Café
A local favorite street food spot is open again! Burgers, fries, and seasonal treats – the delicious food at Linnutee Café fills your stomach, and the pleasant atmosphere invites you back.
Additionally, Linnutee Café will host summer concerts. Keep an eye on their Facebook page.

Hara Harbor
In the former submarine base, the spirit of the past meets the vibe of the new era. At Hara Harbor, you can enjoy sauna and water activities, historical tours, and much more. The experience is complemented by a delightful bite at the harbor restaurant, which is open daily during the summer months.

Veinivilla
Estonia’s northernmost winemaker, Valgejõe Veinivilla, has expanded its selection, and during the summer, Michelin-worthy drinks are complemented by smoked fish flavors. The café is open every Saturday and Sunday until the end of summer from 1 PM to 6 PM. The menu includes freshly baked smoked fish or other fish, local wines, and non-alcoholic craft beverages.
Additionally, Veinivilla will host historical lectures. Keep an eye on their Facebook page.

Lahemaa Heritage House
Lahemaa Heritage House preserves the traditions and wisdom of the old people. Active leaders Liis and Roland offer farm visits, workshops, and organize various events for those interested.
The hosts invite you to this summer’s major event! The Open Farm Days will take place on July 20-21, and at the Heritage House, you will find a home café, workshops, animals, and local farm goods.

Kakuvälja Craft Chamber
If you love local crafts, head to Kakuvälja. There, beautiful knitwear and crochet items await you. Why not grab a handmade sunshade and enjoy it in one of Lahemaa’s manor parks!
